Doctors' Day
National Doctors’ Day – March 30
In 1935 the SMA Alliance initiated celebration of Doctors’ Day, an observance which culminated in the 1990 proclamation by President George Bush of March 30 as National Doctors’ Day. SMAA continues to encourage its members to promote the observance through community projects. These projects pay tribute to physicians, remind the public of doctors’ dedication to the health and welfare of patients, and increase awareness of the positive role of physicians in the community.
Promote National Doctor’s Day in Your Community!
Take a minute now to mark the next National Doctors’ Day – March 30 – on your calendar and consider how you will help others celebrate the physician(s) around you on that day in your own community with the help of the SMA Alliance.
Will there be a party with Doctors’ Day balloons, recognition tray cards placed with patient meals, or Doctors’ Day lapel pins worn by each of those special physicians? The SMA Alliance has some great ideas on how to honor these men and women dedicated to the field of medicine and make the next Doctors’ Day memorable.
As we continue to promote Doctors’ Day each year, the SMA Alliance is excited to offer promotional items to assist you in acknowledging your own physicians’ dedication to the medical field.
In addition to honoring your physician(s), note that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items will benefit SMA’s Research & Education Endowment Fund, providing medical school scholarships and other educational opportunities to young physicians.
