How to Contribute

Gifts to the Research & Education Endowment Fund can be made in numerous ways, each of which provides the Fund with the support it needs, while enabling you to potentially realize immediate tax savings. From a tax planning perspective, a bequest in your name or the name of a loved one may be an excellent way to designate your charitable gift. Possible tax benefits associated with a contribution may actually help you accomplish personal planning objectives in ways that benefit you, your loved ones, and your charitable interests.

Ways to give to the fund:

In 1991 SMA established The Society of 1906, to recognize major contributors to the Fund. A complete listing of members can be seen by clicking here.
To become a member of The Society of 1906 an SMA member can do one of the following:

  • Give an outright gift of $5000 or more;
  • Make a pledge of $5000 to be paid over a five-year period;
  • After you have accumulated contributions of $5000 or more;
  • Bequeath $20,000 or more to SMA from your estate.

SMA’s Research & Education Endowment Fund also exists to give those in the medical profession a way to Memorialize or Honor those who have made a difference in their lives. In an effort to assist with this we have available“In-Honor” and “In-Memory” cards. The cards can be purchased for $25.00 each or 4 for $75.00. All proceeds from the purchase of these cards benefits the Research & Education Endowment Fund.
