Award Categories

Certificates and ribbons (first, second and third place) can be given for each of the following in all three categories; Doctors’ Day, Health Education and Medical Heritage:

a. Statewide project;
b. County Alliance with more than 150 members;
c. County Alliance with 75 to 150 members;
d. County Alliance with less than 75 members.

Doctors’ Day
The Feldner Award will be presented to the county or state Alliance submitting the best overall Doctors’ Day observance. A monetary amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) is awarded to this winner at the Alliance Luncheon during the Annual Convention. This winner will be asked to make a brief presentation, not to exceed five (5) minutes, describing and highlighting the project at the Post Convention Board Meeting. A picture and a brief review of the project as summarized by the Editor will be published in the Southern Connection.

The Guy Smith Kirby award will be presented to the county or state Alliance submitting the second best overall Doctors’ Day observance. A monetary amount of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) is awarded to this winner at the Alliance Luncheon during the Annual Convention.

Health Education
The Eileen Martin Award will be presented to the county or state submitting the best overall Health Education project. A monetary amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) is awarded to this winner at the Alliance Luncheon during the Annual Convention. This winner will be asked to make a brief presentation, not to exceed five (5) minutes, describing and highlighting the project at the Post Convention Board Meeting. A picture and a brief review of the project as summarized by the Editor will be published in the Southern Connection.

Medical Heritage
The Dr. and Mrs. Milford O. Rouse Award will be presented to the county or state submitting thebest overall Medical Heritage project.A monetary amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) is awarded to this winner at the Alliance Luncheon during the Annual Convention. This winner will be asked to make a brief presentation, not to exceed five (5) minutes, describing and highlighting the project at the Post Convention Board Meeting. A picture and a brief review of the project as summarized by the Editor will be published in the Southern Connection.
